We had so many surprising and delicious food and drink adventures this month, but here are some of our favorites. Some are brand new, and others we just recently discovered.
Bite Cafe, 1039 N Western (Ukrainian Village)
Perfect brunch spot when you want to eat and drink on the cheap, hipster-watch, and accommodate veggie/vegan brunchmates. It’s BYOB with no corkage fee. The menu is eclectic but approachable, and the chef will substitute tofu for eggs in any dish. Standouts were the bi bim bop with fried tofu and the migas. Oh, and the fries were quite possibly the best we’ve ever had. They also serve local favorite Dark Matter coffee. But best of all, we all ate and our drank our body weight for less than $15 a person. They don’t take reservations, so expect a bit of a wait.
